Kraft Foods Group has announced plans to invest $25m to install new packaging technology and increase production of its Capri Sun beverages at its facility in Frederick County, Maryland, US.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell said he announced Kraft's expansion at its Winchester facility three years ago and the latest announcement is another investment to expand Capri Sun production and bring in new packaging technology.

"The site continues to expand, and this new manufacturing component will add to the longevity of this successful operation," McDonnell said.

The company, which employs about 460 Virginians at its Frederick County operation, is set to add an additional 25 employees with the expansion.

North American consumer packaged food and beverage company Kraft Foods Group's brands include Kraft, Maxwell House, Oscar Mayer, Planters and JELL-O.
