Brazil's motor vehicle output in April this year increased by 1.6 percent from the previous month and fell by 21.4 percent year on year to 277,091 units (excluding agricultural vehicles), according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 12 percent year on year to 1,068,809 units.

New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 293,240 units in April this year, increasing by 21.8 percent month on month and down 12.1 percent year on year. 16.9 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles. In the first four months of the current year, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by five percent year on year to 1,105,994 units.

Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in April this year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 36,735 units, increasing by 55.7 percent compared to the previous month and down 30.4 percent year on year. In the January-April period this year, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 111,928 units, down 31.9 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in April the revenue generated by Brazilian motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) increased by 17.1 percent month on month to $1.14 billion, declining by 24.4 percent year on year. In the first four months of the current year, in Brazil the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 18.4 percent year on year to $4.03 billion.
