According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the country’s imports of steel flat products totaled 474,762 tons in October, falling by 7.5% year on year and decreasing by 23% from a month ago.

In October, the imports of hot rolled flat steel products totaled 320,412 tons, falling by 15%; those of cold rolled steel flat products were at 59,567 tons, rising by 22%, both compared to the figures in the same period of 2012.

In the January-October period, the country’s imports of steel flat products amounted to 5.06 million tons, rising by 19% year on year.
